Sutter Gould Medical Foundation Announces Opening of Briggsmore Specialty Center

MODESTO – Sutter Gould Medical Foundation announced today that physicians and staff will begin seeing patients this month at the new Briggsmore Specialty Center, a 44,000 square foot, two-story medical office building on the campus of Memorial Medical Center.
The clinic will serve as the offices for Gould Medical Group’s departments of orthopedics, cardiology, gastroenterology, general surgery and Ob/Gyn. The departments will stagger their opening dates throughout the month of April, with the cardiology department opening first on April 4, followed by Ob/Gyn on April 11, surgery and orthopedics on April 18, and gastroenterology on April 25.
“This expansion is necessary due to the growth of our physician group and our specialty departments,” said Martin F. Pricco, M.D., Gould Medical Group’s president. “Our patients will benefit from having these specialists located on the hospital campus, and it will minimize the physician’s time that is currently spent traveling between the hospital and their clinical office."
The medical office building is equipped with new health technology features. EPIC, Sutter Gould Medical Foundation’s electronic medical record’s system, allows Gould physicians to access a patient’s medical record instantly to review lab results, prior physician visits, and prescription histories. The computer resources at the physician’s fingertips also include PACS, a filmless picture archiving and communications system that allows Gould radiologists to share digital images and diagnoses instead of shipping X-ray film between locations.
The Briggsmore Specialty Center is located at 1409 E. Briggsmore Avenue, on the southeast corner of Memorial Medical Center’s campus.
