Sutter Gould Medical Foundation Receives Three-Year Accreditation

May 15, 2001
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MODESTO - Sutter Gould Medical Foundation has received a three-year accreditation from the Institute for Medical Quality, a leading California healthcare quality accrediting organization.

Sutter Gould is the first medical foundation in the Sutter Health system to receive IMQ accreditation. This follows Sutter Gould's three-year accreditation from the Medical Quality Commission in 1997.

“We are extremely pleased to receive this accreditation, ” said David Bradley, CEO at Sutter Gould. “It validates our efforts to improve the health of our patients in the Central Valley, and is a testament to the commitment to our patients by our staff and physicians.”

IMQ's ambulatory program is recognized by the Medical Board of California to conduct accredited surveys. The surveys are conducted by peers - physicians who practice in ambulatory settings in California - and cover all facets of the medical foundation's operations.

Sutter Gould Medical Foundation is part of the non-profit, Sacramento-based Sutter Health system. Sutter Health's other San Joaquin Valley affiliates include Memorial Medical Center in Modesto and Sutter Tracy Community Hospital. Sutter Gould has 17 care centers located throughout Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties, providing primary and specialty care to over 150,000 area residents.
