FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

STOCKTON – Sutter Gould Medical Foundation (SGMF) today announced that five prominent Stockton physicians have joined Gould Medical Group, one of the area’s largest medical groups and a long-time leader in providing quality health care services in the Central Valley.

The providers – three surgeons and two urologists – have begun seeing patients as Gould Medical Group physicians this month. A fourth surgeon, Dr. Annette Seiler, will be joining Gould in April.

Surgeons Christopher Hudlin M.D., Andrew Macbeth M.D., and Dean Sloan M.D. were previously part of Stockton Surgical Associates Medical Group. Urologists Peter Garbeff, M.D., and Kurt Roemer, M.D. formerly belonged to Maple Street Urology. They are joined by Jill Ringer, a physician’s assistant, who joined Gould as part of the agreement.

The physicians will continue to see patients in their current facilities. Dr. Hudlin and Dr. Macbeth practice at 1805 N. California Street, #310. Dr. Seiler will practice in this office as well after she joins the group in April. Dr. Sloan’s office is at 2800 N. California Street, Suite #12. Dr. Garbeff and Dr. Roemer will continue to treat their urology patients at the 534 Maple Street offices.

“The affiliation of these established physicians with our organization broadens our existing medical group and expands the medical specialties available to San Joaquin County residents through Sutter Gould Medical Foundation,” said James Conforti, the Foundation’s chief executive officer. “We look forward to having them on board offering their clinical expertise and enhancing clinical integration at Sutter Gould.”
Office operations will be assumed by SGMF, a not-for-profit organization established in 1986. SGMF provides administrative support, management services, and medical staff support for over 200 physicians in the Central Valley, freeing doctors to focus more time on patient care.

SGMF has two additional care centers in Stockton: a primary care office at 9421 Thornton Road, and the recently-opened Stockton Medical Plaza, a 70,000 square-foot, three-story medical office building on the corner of Hammer Lane and Don Avenue. That facility houses Gould physicians in primary care, obstetrics/gynecology, and endocrinology. In addition, a state-of-the-art imaging center and clinical laboratory services are included in the plaza. Future plans for that site include the addition of updated facilities for more specialists including the new surgeons and urologists.

“We are extremely pleased to join a solid, well-known and established medical group,” said Dr. Hudlin. “The efficiencies of an integrated group practice, which include access to the latest technology, will enhance the care we provide to our patients here in the San Joaquin Valley.”

That technology includes the electronic health record, providing Gould physicians’ immediate access to a patient’s medical history and immediate review of results from diagnostic tests. It also includes PACS, a filmless picture archiving and communications system that allows Gould radiologists to share digital images and diagnoses electronically between locations.

SGMF operates care centers throughout San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties. SGMF is an affiliate of Sutter Health, one of the nation’s leading not-for-profit networks of community health care providers, provides health care services to the residents of more than 100 Northern California communities. Sutter Health supports 26 locally operated acute care hospitals, as well as physician training programs, medical research facilities, home health, hospice and occupational health services.
